first post

Hello
this is my first post and I am not really sure what all to write. We are a retired military family living in the mid-west. My husband of 24 years is still working on a military base and we have been blessed with 8 children. We have 6 boys and 2 girls. Our oldest son got married almost 1 year ago and his wife is expecting any day now. It was a beautiful courtship and wedding!  Last night the 13th of September our second oldest son proposed to the girl he has been courting! We had gone out to dinner before church and he asked her at the restaurant. It was beautiful! We are thrilled! The 2nd son is a 3rd year bible student so I am not sure when the wedding will take place.

Let's see, we homeschool and love it! I think the kids are happy we homeschool as well. We also have a small on line business that we are hoping the Lord keeps on blessing and it turns into a large on line business. If fact, I would love to one day have a real store. Our business is called Butter and Honey, it is a Christian General Store. I am burdened by the lack of training parents are doing for their daughters to be keepers at home. Even my generation has not been trained by in large in the simple skills that women should know. It grieves me to hear women even as old as my mom talk about never eating at home and not even knowing the basic in cooking or sewing or much else in the keeping of the home. I pray one day the Lord allows us to have a training room to teach basic cooking, baking, sewing and other hand skills.
